About Story Bridge

An SEL Intervention Platform for K-8 Student-Services Teams, built to help counselors and social workers carry personalized support from a student’s first goal through progress review and the next decision.

StoryBridge is building a Social Emotional Support Platform that helps student-services teams deliver, manage, and track SEL interventions so more students can become ready to learn.

Our Mission

Help student-services professionals sustain meaningful interventions so more students can build and demonstrate the skills they need to be ready to learn.

Our Vision

Every student can receive personalized support that helps them become ready to learn.

Why We Built This

Story Bridge started when Anne, a K-5 school social worker in Green Bay with 15 years of experience, told her husband she needed something better than the worksheets she was spending hours assembling every week. That conversation became this platform.

School counselors are stretched thin. The students who need the most support often get the least personalized help.

385:1
Average Caseload

ASCA recommends 250:1. Most counselors are managing nearly double that. There is no time to create personalized materials from scratch.

Tier 2 Gap
The Missing Middle

You have Tier 1 curriculum for the whole class. You have Tier 3 for crises. But for the students in between who need targeted, relatable stories — nothing exists at scale.

Generic
SEL Materials

Generic materials can make it harder to connect a selected practice to the student’s actual context. Professionals need an intervention they can review, guide, and adapt.

What Story Bridge Does

A qualified professional defines the goal and selects the practice. Story Bridge prepares a narrated, personalized guided story with relatable imagery in the background. The professional reviews it and guides the intervention.

About a Minute of Counselor Input

Describe the challenge and choose a framework in about a minute. Story Bridge builds the illustrated storybook, narration, and quizzes in the background.

Student Reading Kiosk

Hand a student the tablet. They read with narration, answer comprehension questions, and practice skills. No student login needed.

Guides + Teacher Notes + Parent Letters

Every story generates an intervention guide, a teacher briefing with reinforcement strategies, and a family letter at 5th grade reading level. No extra work.

Mittsy — Your SEL Assistant

Tell Mittsy what your student is going through. She'll find the right story in your library or help you create a new one. Just a conversation.

Progress Tracking & Data Export

See which students read, which skills they practiced, and export data for IEP documentation, parent conferences, or MTSS progress monitoring.

Built on Frameworks You Already Use

Every story is aligned with established SEL and behavioral frameworks — not a proprietary methodology you have to learn.

How We’re Different

Story Bridge is not a chatbot, not a worksheet generator, and not a generic SEL curriculum. Here's what makes it different.

1

Counselor-in-the-Loop, Always

AI generates the story. A human counselor reviews, edits, and publishes it. Students never see content that hasn't been approved by a qualified professional.

2

Stories, Not Worksheets

A guided story can give a student a concrete situation in which to recognize and practice a selected skill. The professional decides whether the story fits the student and the intervention goal.

3

Culturally Responsive by Default

Characters reflect the student's background, family structure, and environment. A story about managing anger isn't set in a generic suburb — it's set in the student's world.

4

No Student Data in AI Prompts

Student names and PII are never sent to the AI model. Story generation uses only themes, character traits, and educational goals entered by the counselor. Google's Vertex AI DPA prohibits using customer data for model training.

5

Built for District Procurement

Microsoft and ClassLink SSO. Role-based access control. FERPA and COPPA compliant. DPA ready. Organization-level reporting. This is not a side project — it's infrastructure for your MTSS program.

6

Gamified Student Experience

Students earn points, badges, and levels as they read stories and practice skills. Weekly streaks and practice challenges turn SEL from a chore into something students look forward to.
